A Foundation Built on Borrowed Ground
Every morning at Dove Love, over 50 children wake up in structures that were never meant to be permanent. The land beneath their feet does not belong to us. The buildings that shelter them were put together with iron sheets and wooden poles as a starting point not a final answer.
For years, Dove Love Charity Organization has operated from temporary shelters on rented land in Uganda. While these structures have served the children with love and care, they were never a long-term solution. Iron sheet roofs trap heat in the day and offer little protection in heavy rain. Wooden pole structures weaken over time. Rented land means no security the ground our children call home could be taken away.
The children who gather under the shade of a mango tree for lessons, who eat their meals on the open dirt, who sleep in cramped rooms they deserve better. Every child deserves to know that the ground beneath them is theirs, and the roof above them will not fail.
Permanent Land
Securing owned land in Uganda means stability a safe foundation that no one can take away from these children.
Proper Buildings
Permanent classrooms and dormitories built with solid materials cool in heat, safe in storms, and dignified for every child.
Agricultural Support
Land also means farming. Growing food on our own land would reduce dependence on donations and build lasting self-reliance.
A Safe Environment
Stability of place creates stability of mind. Children who feel secure at home are able to learn, grow, and thrive.
Andrew and the Dove Love team are actively working toward acquiring land and beginning construction. But this vision requires resources that the organization does not yet have. Your support makes it possible to move from temporary to permanent.
"These children need a foundation that lasts not just for today, but for every child who will come after them."
