Dove Love Charity Organization began as a vision sparked by the pain and hardship of Andrew Odoi. Growing up in poverty on Buvuma Island, he knows what it means to be forgotten. Raised by a single mother after his father's disappearance, life revolved around survival.
Every day, he walked over 10 kilometres to reach the nearest government primary school surviving on a single meal a day, or none at all. By God's grace, he made it through high school on bursaries and attended university through a government loan scheme.
...As time passed, the government imposed restrictions on fishing crippling the once-thriving island economy. Families who had relied on fishing for generations found themselves destitute, unable to provide for their children.
Tragically, a high spread of HIV added to the crisis, leaving children orphaned and alone. Some parents, overwhelmed by financial ruin, were forced to abandon their children. Witnessing this suffering stirred something deep within Andrew.
Alongside a colleague, he embarked on a mission to make a difference. Together, they started Dove Love Charity Organizationsecuring land and erecting structures to provide shelter, education, and nourishment to the children of Uganda.
