A Child Who Once Ran and Played
Kisakye is an 8-year-old boy living in extremely difficult circumstances with his mother in Uganda, East Africa. He was not born this way.
His mother shared that Kisakye was once a healthy child full of energy, running and playing like any child his age. Then, an illness changed everything. Today, he is unable to move, sit, or care for himself. His small body requires constant care around the clock.
Despite seeking help from government hospitals, they were unable to access the treatment Kisakye needed. The healthcare system, already stretched thin in remote island communities, could not provide the level of support his condition required. Without proper medical intervention, his condition continued to worsen.
His mother explained that they could not afford the recommended treatment. Every day, she struggles alone carrying him, feeding him, keeping him clean and comfortable without resources, without support, and without rest.
Dove Love Charity Organization visited the family and documented their situation firsthand. We are now actively working to connect them with medical assessment and provide immediate care support. But we cannot do it alone.
